Much improved over SC100

I had the Voice Caddie SC100 Launch Monitor. I was having trouble justifying buying the SC200, even though I wanted the ability to specify the lofts of my clubs. Fortunately, I managed to get the SC100 a little too close to my swing path. In one swing of a 7-iron, the SC100 was just a pile of parts and I could begin shopping for a deal on the SC200.

Naturally, I checked GolfTech. I've never found a better price and the service is top quality, something usually lost when prices are low.

SC200 is a much better launch monitor compared to the SC100. First off, the ability to specify club lofts lets me get accurate distances on all my clubs. All the other stats (club speed, ball speed, smash factor) are still there but now distance is more accurate. There is also a switch to toggle between "carry" distance and "total" distance (carry plus an estimated "roll" factor). This is important because I want to know the carry distance on my short irons and wedges. For driver and other woods, I want to know total distance.

In addition to the the improvements in the main unit, the remote control is improved. It's slight larger and feels much more solid.

SC200 also has a vocalized distance announcement with six volume levels. If you are on a crowded driving range, you might want to set it to level zero (voice off, display only), unless you want to draw attention from the others around you. SC200 does require you to hit a ball, so it is probably not much use indoors unless you can hit into a net.

SC200 is not a Trackman. It does not give spin rates, attack angles, launch angles, club face orientation or club path. It is also not $25,000 like Trackman. For the money, however, it is probably the best low-cost launch monitor on the market today.
